Summerfest
Every summer in Bountiful we have summerfest. It is a really cool arts festival thing where there are vendor booths and fun and ethnic foods and dancers from different countries that perform traditional dances and music. It is a fun bit of culture that we are lucky enough to experience every year. My family (my mom, aunts, cousins, etc.) always host some dancers when they come. It is a crazy and stressful 10ish days, but can be a really cool experience and we have made some fun friendships through it. This summer my Aunt had a bunch of boys from the Czech Republic and my cousins had people from Nepal.
Everytime summerfest comes around we always have a lunch day. We did eat more than cotton candy, but not to much more! I took my nephew Miles from his mom so that she and Ava could make some junk art. My little Miles was such a mess!! When I got him he was already stained brown from his italian ice, and had been eating captain crunch so was all crummy and sticky from that. Then we sat down and while we were deciding what to eat he was asking for food so the sweet lady also at our table gave him a bag of cheetos. We ended up eating twisted taters, which were kinda like home made potato chips with ketchup. Miles loved dipping the taters. Then his mom brought him some realy food and he dipped that too. By the time I was done with him he was covered in italian ice, captain crunch, cheetos, grease, salt and ketchup!!! What a wreck, but an adorable wreck! I am so lucky to be so close to my cousins and to have the oppurtunity to love thier babies!!
